Alison Butts, Office Assistant

Alison Butts (she/her) joined Atlas Venture in January 2023 and serves as Office Assistant.

Prior to joining Atlas, Alison held various positions in the arts non-profit sector. Her most recent role being interim managing director of Silverthorne Theater Company in Greenfield, MA. In that role she managed daily operations, season producing needs, fundraising, marketing, strategic planning, and financial management. Prior, she was the assistant workshop manager at Shakespeare & Company’s Summer Shakespeare Intensive where she oversaw operations of the workshop and the 50 participants, faculty, and staff. Prior, she was the marketing associate for the Arts Extension Service at UMass Amherst and spent three summers as the founding production manager at Broken Leg Productions, a youth theatre company.

Alison holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a double major in theater and communication, and a certificate in arts management. At UMass she was awarded the Denise Lessard Wagner Community Spirit Award for making an outstanding contribution to the community spirit of the Department of Theater through beyond-the-call-of-duty dedication and commitment. Alison was also awarded the Ed Golden Acting Scholarship for demonstrated outstanding promise and commitment to the art, and the Chancellor’s Talent Award for an especially strong art portfolio. She is a William F. Field Alumni Scholar Award Nominee for academic achievement.

Outside of the office, Alison is actively involved in the Boston theater scene as an actor, scenic painter, and lighting electrician. She enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with loved ones.
