Jaafar is a protein engineer with over 15 years of experience in pre-clinical development of bispecifics for precision immunology applications. He served as the Senior Director of TCR discovery and protein engineering at Alloy Therapeutics and the Head (Director) of the cytokine engineering laboratory at Dragonfly Therapeutics from which he helped advance DF6215 to IND (Currently in Phase 1/1b clinical development). Jaafar also spent more than 12 years as a resident scientist in ImClone/Lilly/Loxo where he helped design and execute discovery strategies that led to multiple bispecific IND filings for oncology applications. During his career in protein engineering and structure biology, Jaafar has been involved in the development and application of a wide array of therapeutic modalities including mAbs, bispecifics, TCR-based redirectors and cytokines. Jaafar earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut.
