Phillip is a venture partner, bringing 15+ years of experience as a biotech investor, executive and company builder. He most recently served as chief scientific officer and chief strategy officer at Generation Bio, where he built and led business development, portfolio strategy and discovery research functions, raised >$750M in capital across equity financings and partnerships, and drove the development of a leading targeting LNP platform. Previously Phillip was a principal on the Atlas investment team and co-founder of Generation Bio and Dyne Therapeutics (NASDAQ:DYN). Prior to Atlas, he served as director of MRL Ventures Fund at Merck and associate at Flagship Pioneering. Phillip earned his Ph.D. in systems biology from the University of California San Diego, where he was a National Science Foundation graduate research fellow, and graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in biological engineering and physics.
